Hello,
My name is Claire Cobden and I run Chichester Netball Club. I have played netball my whole life and have taught netball as a PE teacher for the past 11 years. After having my first son I wanted to get back into netball but saw there was very little in the Chichester area. Having coached netball for a number of years and being a Level 2 UKCC Netball Coach, I took it upon myself to start up this club so more people like me can get back into netball and to help develop the young netball talent in the area. Having now had my second son in June 2018, I am even more determined to get my fitness back and get back onto the netball court.
We are a friendly, local sports club encouraging girls and adults to play more netball and have fun in the process. Alongside this, my aim is for all members to improve their skills and develop as a player. Our juniors train all year round and compete in friendly fixtures against other local clubs, alongside competing in a few tournaments each year. Our adults also train all year round and play in the Chichester Netball League every Thursday and we are currently doing very well, with one team in the Prem Division and one in Div 1. All new members have the option to train and play for the club, or to just train for fitness and fun.

In September 2018 we launched a new junior session for girls’ in school years 5 and 6. This has allowed me to coach more young talent and improve their ability from a younger age.

I am excited to say that in September 2019 we launched a session for girls’ in school years 9, 10 and 11. This new session runs on Tuesday evenings throughout the year. This will mean that the club will be open to girls from 8 years of age, through to adults.
If you are interested in your daughter / yourself joining the club, please contact me on ccawte1@googlemail.com for more information or if you have any questions.
Many thanks,
Claire Cobden
